The Empowered Parents Collective is a learning and support space created for parents of children with disabilities. It is designed to help families understand the special education process and feel more confident as they navigate their child’s educational journey.

The Collective is guided by experienced special education professionals who understand schools, evaluations, processes, and parent advocacy. Families can trust that the information and support offered is accurate, practical, and grounded in real-world experience.

When a child is identified with a disability, many parents feel overwhelmed and unsure of what to do next. The Empowered Parents Collective helps reduce that stress by offering clear guidance, practical tools, and a supportive community. Parents can learn what to expect, how to prepare for meetings, and how to make informed decisions for their child.

New visitors are invited to explore the Collective with 14 days of free access, giving families time to review the resources, connect with the community, and experience the support the Collective provides.

Learning Experiences Guided by Special Education Professionals

Parents have access to learning experiences and materials developed by professionals with deep experience in special education, disability services, and family advocacy. These resources are designed to help families better understand processes such as evaluations, eligibility, IEP development, services, and transition planning.

Clear Explanations of Special Education Processes

The Collective includes structured content that explains special education laws, procedures, and supports in clear, parent-friendly language. Families can explore topics such as disability categories under IDEA, dispute resolution options, assistive technology, behavior supports, and educational planning.

A Community of Parents Who Share Similar Experiences

Parents can engage with other families who are navigating similar journeys. The Collective provides organized community spaces where members can ask questions, share experiences, and offer encouragement to one another. These conversations help parents learn from real-world experiences while building meaningful connections.

Community discussions and shared resources are monitored by the Empowering Parents Network team and experienced special education professionals. This oversight helps ensure that conversations remain respectful, supportive, and grounded in reliable information.

The Collective launched on March 10, 2026. It is a growing collection of tools and resources, including templates, checklists, planning guides, and curated links to trusted national organizations. New materials are added regularly as the Collective continues to grow.

The Collective also offers opportunities for deeper learning through guided coursework and educational modules. These learning opportunities allow parents to build stronger knowledge and confidence as advocates for their children.

Optional 1:1 Consultations

Parents who would like additional support may also have the opportunity to schedule individual consultations with members of the EPN team. These conversations provide personalized guidance to help families think through questions, prepare for meetings, and understand their options.

The Empowered Parents Collective is part of the Empowering Parents Network and continues to grow as new resources, learning opportunities, and community connections are added. Our goal is to create a space where parents feel supported, informed, and empowered as they advocate for their children.

We look forward to welcoming you into a community built to support parents every step of the way.
