From the time a child is diagnosed with a disability, parents of children with disabilities often feel unprepared for the journey ahead. Whether you are just starting this journey, midway through, or transitioning your child into post-secondary opportunities, Empowering Parents Network is dedicated to creating a space that empowers parents to learn, connect, and understand the world of special education. EPN collaborates with families to help children with disabilities find their purpose through educational planning and realistic goal setting. We seek to help parents understand their parental rights, guide them through appropriate and realistic goal planning for their child, and support them through each step of their journey. EPN also consults with family organizations and support groups to provide educational workshops on a variety of topics including procedural safeguards, how to be an effective and active IEP team member, understanding educational psychologist reports, program offerings, and placements. As a secure cloud collective, parents can engage in one-on-one or group conversations while seasoned special education professionals join the conversation to answer questions and assure the accuracy of information.

Please note, Empowering Parent Network is not an advocacy service. Rather, we seek to empower parents so that they can advocate for their child, and we provide avenues where parents can educate themselves to the fullest extent possible.
